Chinn GYN is turning seven this month!

Seven years ago, this practice arose from a nagging thought our founding provider had: Things can be done better. This is the underlying vision that always drives the development of our practice. From adding new services to hiring new staff, from changing processes to forming policies our goal remains the same:

How can we do healthcare even better?

When we say we want to “do healthcare better,” we DO mean better than the current medical system in our country allows. But we also mean that we want to provide better care and experiences than we did yesterday. Evolution should be continual, failures should motivate change, successes should be expanded… and so we grow.

We have experienced a lot of change over the years. For those of you who have been here from the start, you’ve seen these changes unfold as we sought to better meet the various needs of the unique individuals we serve. Throughout the development of our practice, we have always worked to find the best way to consistently tend to the wide variety of ever-changing needs that walk through our doors.

To continue to provide optimal care, we must restructure things.

We are thrilled to announce that, with significant thought and deliberation, our practice model with be revamped in order to allow us to serve you better than yesterday. We will be categorizing our services into 3 distinct avenues of care, each with its own clearly delineated path and processes:

  1. Comprehensive Medical
  2. Strictly Surgical
  3. Aesthetic and Wellness

Until now, we have provided medical care as complete concierge primary care or simply gynecology. We made more involved and complete care optional, allowing patients to choose to see us exclusively for their gynecologic care.

We didn’t realize until we put this into practice that this was antithetical to the kind of care we intend to provide: comprehensive, integrative healthcare for all of your parts. Too often in healthcare we see fragmented care, providers caring for parts and pieces, breasts and uteruses, as though they are separate from the human in front of them. With women’s health in particular, this can be incredibly detrimental to the outcome, given that a body is, after all, a single interconnected system. We can’t take the best care of you unless we take care of all of you.

So, the question remains… how can we do this better?

 

CONCIERGE MEMBERSHIP CHANGES

We now invite all patients seeking medical care with our office to enroll in our membership-based Comprehensive Medical Care practice. We will necessarily limit practice size to only patients who are actively enrolled in our practice for comprehensive care and reserving our limited provider time for those patients.

In lieu of a price increase in the membership fees this year, we are adjusting as follows:

  • As renewal issues can cause a lapse in service for patients, we will no longer be offering an annual payment election; all patients will be enrolled on a month-to-month basis. 
  • Service costs will be consistent and no longer discounted for enrolled patients, as all patients we see for medical care will be enrolled.
  • We will no longer be able to offer the 24/7 concierge phone line. Repeated misuse of this line has made it untenable to continue to offer this service. We will be accessible during our generous business hours only.

We will maintain same-day and next-day appointments for urgent needs, consistent and timely coverage of the significant behind-the-scenes work done by your provider, and your complimentary birthday skin treatment as a thank you for being a part of our practice.

These changes are being implemented to create more consistency in your care and to create a smoother process for our staff to assist you. While we understand that change can be hard, we assure you that we are here for you and are working to do better than yesterday on a daily basis. 

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you are currently enrolled in our concierge program, your current terms will be terminated immediately. Your membership will continue under the new terms and you will need to sign the new agreement before receiving any services. If you have paid in advance for a year-long membership, your payment will be honored through the same timeframe under our new membership terms. We are here to answer any questions you have about the new terms! Please reach out to us ASAP to obtain your new agreement and ask any questions you might have.

If you are currently a patient who is not enrolled in our concierge program, you will have a 30-day period to call us so that we can discuss the program with you and determine if you would like to enroll as a member with our practice. After that time, if you do not elect to enroll, we will assist you in finding another provider to meet your needs.

The Comprehensive Medical Care plan does not apply to those seeking care under the other two avenues of care, Strictly Surgical or Aesthetic and Wellness. Of course, you are welcome to pursue multiple avenues of care with us. All patients, regardless of avenue of care, will be asked to sign new intake forms, as we have amended our patient policies.

We will offer 50% off all Aesthetic and Wellness services from July 12th-18th to celebrate our most recent trip around the sun and to thank you for being a part of it. We encourage you to check out the new website and online shop in advance… we’ve done our best to make it more helpful for you!

 

MOVING FORWARD

In the eighth year of Chinn GYN, we will continue to change and grow. We will never be “finished” with our goal of doing what we do better… this announcement simply consolidates our existing changes and solutions to improve the care you receive.
